Francesco Melachrinos is the Founder and Managing Director of Nomchart. Prior to Nomchart, Francesco served as the Managing Director at two shipping companies, Forth Shipping (2016-2023) and Rainbow Shipmanagement (2013-2016), both in the ownership and management of Panamax bulk carriers. He overlooked the full management of the ships, both commercial and technical, and has been in charge of 15 dry dock/special surveys in China for Panamaxes.

Earlier in his career, he also worked as a Panamax Shipbroker for SSY in London, between 2008 and 2013. He has worked as an Operator at Eastmed Shipmanagement, and as Shipping Finance office at Eurobank Greece. From a very young age he has been involved in vessel attendances and repairs and served as a junior cadet for four months on board a handymax.

Francesco holds a Master’s of Science in Shipping, Trade, and Finance from Cass Business School, City University, London, UK (2008) and a B.A. in Entrepreneurship and Global Business Management from Babson College, Boston, USA (2006).
